The Club is an on-line digital storytelling club designed to support South Australians to produce stories for upload onto the RSL Virtual War Memorial and Anzac Centenary South Australia Time Capsule Projects. It forms part of the Cheer Up Hut Regional Engagement Strategy to provide every South Australian with the opportunity to share their Anzac stories throughout the Anzac Centenary (2014 – 2018).
These two major story repositories for the state are working hand-in-glove with each other to encourage as many South Australian’s as possible to share Anzac stories about their relatives, their families, and/or their communities including the impact of loss and injury and the resilience that was shown by those South Australian’s both on the battlefront and on the homefront.
Members of the Cheer Up Hut Club will receive information on how to research, prepare and write a biography of a relative who has undertaken active service from any conflict in which Australia has participated over the last 100 years.
There will also be details of resources available for download that can be used to create a layered digital story, using the written story as the basis for one that is enhanced with imagery, video and audio content. These digitally enhanced stories can be entered into the Anzac100__SAReflections short film competition, which will be launched on Anzac Day, 2016.
