Join Air Vice-Marshal Dr Tracy Smart, former Surgeon General of the Australian Defence Force on transition as a health issue for veterans, and hear the results of the Flinders University Higher Education Pathways Research Project for younger veterans.
This project forms part of the Supporting Younger Veterans Grant from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs announced in January 2019, working in partnership with the
William Kibby VC Shed Group.
This Veterans at University Symposium will report on current national higher education activities for veterans and will host a veteran sector strategic discussion session of developing and enhancing higher education pathways for veterans.
An Australian Student Veterans Association at Flinders University was established as part of this project. And in 2019, Flinders University also launched the Military Academic Pathway Program or MAPP, a 4-week program for military personnel, where students can apply to enter first year of a Flinders University degree upon completion.
