The invaluable contribution to the health and wellbeing of the veteran community made by Sir Edward ‘Weary’ Dunlop was commemorated in Melbourne today, marking the 30th anniversary of the creation of his Foundation and the launch of its annual fundraising appeal.
Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Centenary of ANZAC Senator the Hon. Michael Ronaldson said he was honoured to attend the annual commemorative ceremony at the Weary Dunlop Statue in Kings Domain to acknowledge Sir Edward’s lasting legacy.
“The Sir Edward Weary Dunlop Medical Research Foundation is the result of Sir Edward’s vision and his great compassion for others,” Senator Ronaldson said. “Thirty years on, we acknowledge his Foundation’s world-class work into the vital arena of veterans’ medical research.”
