Veterans SA has partnered with The Hospital Research Foundation Group – Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA) to deliver free MindRight and StoryRight workshops for South Australian veterans.
The workshops help veterans build the skills and confidence to navigate personal and professional changes.
Designed for transitioning and former Australian Defence Force (ADF) members (Regular and Reserves), the workshops support any veteran considering a career or role change, preparing to leave service, navigating civilian life, or planning the next stage of their future.
Together, MindRight and StoryRight help participants move forward in their career pathway with clarity, confidence and purpose.
MindRight and StoryRight for Veterans
MindRight and StoryRight are delivered over two days. To gain full benefit from the workshops, participants need to attend both sessions, as each workshop builds on the other, providing a practical, well-rounded approach to transition, covering identity, wellbeing, communication and job readiness.
MindRight (Day 1)
MindRight is a one-day personal development workshop that helps participants make informed decisions about their future.
Through guided reflection, participants explore individual goals, values and strengths, to gain a better understanding of who they are beyond their service role.
The workshop focuses on building an individual sense of purpose, as participants consider their next role, career direction or stage of life. It also introduces practical self-care strategies to support wellbeing, resilience and confidence during times of change.
Paired with StoryRight, it sets a strong foundation for a successful transition, whatever career pathway is ahead.
StoryRight (Day 2)
StoryRight builds on MindRight and focuses on helping participants turn their skills and experience into real job opportunities, both within and outside of service.
The workshop helps participants translate their military experience in a way civilian employers understand and appreciate.
Participants will also learn how to use AI tools to develop their personal narrative and communications skills, including creating personal bios for resumes and professional profiles.
