The Veterans’ Advisory Council is leading a consultation process on the name for the new Veterans’ Mental Health Precinct being developed at Glenside Health Service Campus under Transforming Health.
In August 2015, an Expert Advisory Panel recommended Glenside Health Service Campus as the site for a new $15 million Veterans’ Mental Health Precinct including the Centre for Excellence for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
The consultation process involving Veterans and ex-service organisations, will determine suitable names for the Veterans Mental Health Precinct and areas within the Precinct.
Areas within the Precinct that are proposed to be named are denoted in the map and include:
- The Precinct itself
- In-patient ward
- Out-patient area
- Memorial garden
- Partnerships Hub building
A list of proposed names has been compiled from suggestions received at a Workshop held with Veterans organisations in February 2016. The names were considered against a set of criteria that was developed by the Memorialisation Workgroup, one of five workgroups responsible for the development of the new Precinct.
Consultation will run from 30 May 2016 until 1 July 2016 and members of the Veteran community are encouraged to have their say.
If you would like to provide feedback on suggested names for the Veterans’ Mental Health Precinct, please complete the form marking your preferred names (numbered 1 to 5) with your preferred area to which the name relates. You may wish to suggest your own names and space is provided for this.
Biography information about the proposed individuals are also available to assist with decision making.
