The guided tour, led by Dr Taryn Cowain, highlighted the centre’s programs, inpatient facilities, group activity rooms, family areas, gymnasium, lounge and dining areas and the gardens. Their Excellencies were also shown the memorabilia that has been relocated from Ward 17 and the Repatriation General Hospital.
Staff and inpatients had the opportunity to meet and talk to Sir Peter and Lady Cosgrove, sharing their thoughts on the Centre and services available.
His Excellency and Lady Cosgrove were incredibly impressed with the new facility and what it means for the treatment of veterans now and well into the future. Sir Peter advised he would return to Canberra and strongly urge the Federal Minister for Veterans Affairs, the Hon Dan Tehan, to come to Adelaide and see the outstanding facility.
