Bolton Brothers Entertainment (BBE), in collaboration with an International Production Company and Television Network are searching for a group of veterans who are interested in participating in a television series highlighting the impact that service life can have on individuals.
It is expected to be filmed in 2020. This is a commercial project, not a government funded project.
BBE was founded in 2018 by Nathan and Daniel Bolton with the aim of developing factual based programming that informs, inspires, educates and improves the mental health and wellbeing of everyday Australians.
Nathan was a Special Operations Engineer who served two tours to Afghanistan with SOTG in 2010 and 2012. Post his deployments, he was diagnosed with PTSD and Major Depression. He now shares his story for the benefit of others.
The series will follow former Australian Special Operations Engineer Nathan Bolton and six veterans as they embark on a journey to retrace the final footsteps of fellow South Australian Army Captain, Paul McKay. Captain McKay was a Battle Commander, who after returning home from Afghanistan, faced a long battle with PTSD and would eventually
take his life some 17,000km away in a small country town in Upstate New York, USA. Paul’s death shone a light on the issues facing returned serviceman and woman; and the town of Saranac Lake have commemorated Anzac Day in his honour ever since. Nathan, a recovered PTS sufferer himself will attempt to pass on all he has learnt over the years and help them to see again that no matter how dark it gets, it is possible to once again live a satisfying life filled with meaning, purpose and pleasure.
What you set to gain from the experience:
• Travel to Saranac Lake in Upstate New York, USA
• New and exciting experiences.
• The opportunity to share your story and help others.
• You will be provided with tools to help manage the symptoms of PTSD.
• The opportunity to set specific, challenging and reachable goal and support to achieve them.
If you are interested in participating, we require a short biography that includes your name, age, service history, brief outline of the major incident(s) that caused your PTSD and life before and after service. We also require a photo in civilian attire and military uniform with your submission.
This is only an Expression of Interest. At this stage, we just need to know that Veterans are willing to commit to the project and are willing to share their stories.
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
