Veteran and ex-service organisations will have the opportunity to apply for funding through two new grant programs announced by Veterans SA today.
The Commemorative Services and Capacity Building grant programs have been established to support ex-service organisations to deliver commemorative events and assist in building capacity and capability within organisations.
Veterans SA Director Chantelle Bohan said the new grants would deliver valuable funding to community organisations providing services to veterans and their families.
“Our veterans and ex-service organisations play a vital role in the South Australian community, shaping the way we honour and commemorate the contributions and sacrifices of our service people,” Ms Bohan said.
“The Veterans SA Commemorative Services and Capacity Building grants have been established following ongoing consultation with the veteran community to meet a need for further financial support to build strength and sustainability through learning and development.
“This will ensure South Australia’s ex-service community is financially supported in their commemorative activities and given the opportunity to grow and evolve to ensure longevity into the future.”
The Commemorative Services Grants will support ex-service organisations who plan to host commemorative events during 2022. Organisations can apply for funding to assist with the coordination, management and delivery costs of running these important events.
The Capacity Building Grants will help organisations improve governance practices and strengthen skills and capacity.
Administered by Veterans SA, applications for the Commemorative Services and Capacity Building Grant Funds will both open on Tuesday 2 February 2022 and close 31 March 2022.
