The South Australian Minister for Veterans Affairs Geoff Brock held his inaugural ‘Meet the Minister’ event on July 14 2022 at the Torrens Parade Ground. The event was well-attended, with approximately 80 community members attending.
The evening commenced with a town hall meeting, including an update from the Minister on election commitments as well as current initiatives and key priorities for the Veterans’ Affairs portfolio. The community was also had the opportunity to ask the Minister questions and provide feedback on issues of importance including mental health, advocacy and support for families.
The town hall meeting was followed by a networking event that providing members of the veteran and defence community an opportunity to meet the Minister and connect with other guests in a relaxed setting.
The Minister hopes to hold more of these events in the future, including in regional South Australia.
