Veterans SA has launched a new website today that will serve as a one-stop hub for current and former Defence members and their families moving to or thinking of transitioning to South Australia.
Home Base SA has been developed in collaboration with individuals and groups with a link to service in the Australian Defence Force (ADF), including current serving members, spouses, recently transitioned members, and community organisations.
Information has been carefully curated to highlight the support services and programs available for the veteran and Defence community in South Australia, particularly in the areas of transition, study, career planning and progression, families and making meaningful community connections.
Home Base SA will also play an important role in educating the wider community about the unique nature of service, including information about the valuable skills people with ADF experience can contribute to the workplace and how to support Defence children at school.
The website was developed in response to research and feedback received by Veterans SA, that identified members of the veteran community often found it difficult to find reliable and consistent information about South Australia.
With many sites offering varying information and results, Home Base SA is the go-to source for reliable and useful information for current and former serving members, their families, support people, employers, and educators in South Australia.
