The South Australian Government has committed $2.1 million over the forward estimates to deliver projects and programs that will support current and former-serving ADF members and their families.

Under the new Veteran Community Security Framework to be delivered by Veterans SA, the South Australian Government will fund a range of initiatives set to benefit veterans who have or are considering transitioning from the ADF, as well as families of current and former members.

The programs that will be funded through the Framework will be developed in response to information collected from the veteran community though engagement activities including forums, surveys, and research activities.

Skills enhancement, employment and families are expected to remain as priority areas identified through community consultation, set to commence in the coming months.

The Framework will support investment in outreach activities that ensure regional participation and engagement in veteran community-focused programs.

Projects and events that commemorate South Australia’s military history will continue to be a priority supported by the South Australian Government through the continuation of the Anzac Day Commemoration Fund and the Veterans SA Commemorative Services Grant Fund.

Ex-service organisations will also continue to benefit from the Veterans SA Capacity Building Grant Fund, which offers eligible organisations who provide services and support to the veteran community, help to improve their governance, and strengthen their capacity building skills.
