Acting Minister for Veterans’ Affairs
The 2023 Veterans SA Career & Business Mentoring Program is officially underway, with 19 members of the veteran community taking the leap towards their career and business development goals.
The program was developed to provide growth opportunities to people who have served in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their partners.
In a program first, eligibility has been expanded to include partners of veterans, with this year’s mentee intake including five partners, seven current serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) members or Reservists, and seven participants who have previously served.
Mentees have been partnered with experienced South Australian business leaders who will share their knowledge and expertise as mentors to support participants to unlock their full potential.
Participants recently attended an induction workshop, led by program facilitator, Christine Molitor of Be Sustained, where they were guided through goal and objective setting activities to start planning their program pathway.
The group was then provided with the opportunity to start building their professional networks as they were joined by professionals from across a variety of South Australian industries and sectors. Over the next six months, the pairs will work together towards achieving their career planning, skill development and business development objectives.
The 2023 Veterans SA Career & Business Mentoring Program will run until November 2023.
Further events will be held throughout the program, providing more opportunities for professional development, confidence building and networking with like-minded individuals.
