Our ambition for VetNet Australia is to ensure our business is a familiar, safe, and enjoyable place where colleagues can fulfil their career ambitions after completing service to the nation
Earlier this month, BAE Systems Australia introduced VetNet Australia, a program offering an expanded range of services and support to the company’s veteran workforce.
Veterans currently account for more than 700 of BAE Systems’ workforce (12 per cent) and the company is actively recruiting more former serving personnel to deliver on its commitment to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
VetNet Australia offers veteran employees access to organisations providing specialist skills and services including Defence Bank, Aimpoint RPL, APOD (Australian Partners of Defence) and Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA).
BAE Systems Australia VetNet Steering Committee Chair Jeremy Satchell describes VetNet Australia as an evolution of work implemented globally to position BAE Systems as an employer of choice for veterans.
“Our ambition for VetNet Australia is to ensure our business is a familiar, safe, and enjoyable place where colleagues can fulfil their career ambitions after completing service to the nation,” he said.
The announcement further solidifies BAE Systems commitment as a foundation member of the South Australian Veteran Employer Network – a network designed to connect local veteran employers, promote relationship building across organisations and underpin the value of veteran employment across the public and private sectors.
