New Strategic Plan for South Australian veterans’ and their families launched

Data-informed policy, empowering community, promoting inclusion and honouring service have been identified as the key priorities for the next 10 years in Veterans SA’s first Strategic Outlook released today.

Veterans SA Director Chantelle Bohan said the strategy would guide the activities of the agency over the next decade.

“The Veterans SA Strategic Outlook outlines the commitment that our agency has made to securing the foundations for a strong, vibrant, well-supported and represented veteran community in South Australia,” Ms Bohan said.

“Our 10-year strategy was developed following consultation with the South Australian veteran community, ex-service organisations and interested members of the public.

“We are confident that the key outcome areas that were identified through the consultation process are inclusive of the diverse needs of South Australian veterans at every stage and we are excited to continue supporting our community through the aims and actions we have planned for the next 12 months.”

“We aim to ensure that our outcomes meet the needs and expectations of the veteran community in South Australia, and we have further opportunities for consultation planned for 2022 to help achieve this.”

As the first state jurisdiction to recognise the importance of a state-based Veterans’ Affairs portfolio, Veterans SA continues to be a national leader in advocating for the veteran community. Veterans SA represents veterans’ interests in South Australia across all levels of government, the South Australian public service, private industry sectors and the general public.
