Service to commence at 1030 am
1 minute’s silence at 1100 am
Immediately following the completion of the service, their will be an official opening / dedication of two panels of fencing, and two gates, which were originally in market square.
The fencing and gates were donated to the Burra Sub Branch of the RSL and the Regional Council of Goyder, who kindly had these items refurbished.
You will remember the refurbishment of market square, and the return of the Krupp field gun, last year, which was part one of the Market Square refurbishment a joint project between Burra RSL and the Regional Council of Goyder.
The 11th of November 2019, will see the culmination with part two of that joint project.
The gates and fencing were generously donated by Mr. Peter Fatchen and Mr. Andrew Fatchen from Black Springs S.A.., who have been invited to attend the service and have accepted to cut the ribbon to declare the gates open.
The 411 Australian Army Cadet unit from Clare have kindly accepted our invitation to supply members to conduct a Catafalque Party for the Remembrance Day service.
At the completion of the service, the Burra RSL President and all members invite all in attendance to enjoy light refreshments within the town hall / Council chambers.
Friday the 8th November, the Burra RSL will be conducting the annual POPPY APPEAL, on behalf of the state HQ of the RSL South Australia, adjacent to the Newsagent store within market square, from 9.00 am – 4.00 pm.
