The 2024-25 grant round saw 18 projects across South Australia awarded a total of $99,976 in funding for community-led initiatives that honour Australia’s significant military contribution and sacrifice.
One recipient, the Naracoorte Lucindale Council received $5,370 for collaboration with the local district Men’s Shed to construct and install 200 new commemorative crosses at the Naracoorte War Memorial prior to Anzac Day 2025.
The RSL Macclesfield Sub-Branch, which was awarded $3,432 in grant funding, has also celebrated the delivery of its project with 16 signs installed highlighting locations of significant importance in our military history including Tarin Kowt in Afghanistan and Kokoda in Papua New Guinea.
Established in 2008 and administered by Veterans SA, the 2025-26 round will remain open for new applications until 5:00pm on Friday, 31 October 2025.

It’s an honour to support our community in efforts that preserve and commemorate both the Anzac spirit and contributions of brave Australians through contemporary military service.
I’m proud to see the fund continuing to support such meaningful initiatives and encourage all interested parties to make sure their applications have been submitted by the end of October.

The funding received by Naracoorte Lucindale Council from the 2024-25 Anzac Day Commemoration Fund has ensured that the 200 commemorative crosses placed on the Naracoorte War Memorial every year for the Anzac Day Dawn Service remain a fitting tribute to our ex-servicemen and women for many years to come.
Council further strengthened its ongoing connections with the community through the delivery of this project in partnership with the Men’s Shed, ensuring the Naracoorte Anzac Day Dawn Service remains one of the most significant and well-attended community events on the local calendar.
