Welcome to the June edition of Veterans SA E-News.
Recently you may have heard about changes to Veterans SA.
Veterans SA will continue to fulfil its vital role and strong advocacy in serving the South Australian veterans’ community and organisations, as part of Defence SA from the 1st July 2019.
Veterans SA will remain as the central contact point for information about Government services and they will continue in promoting Australia’s wartime history and the significance of national commemorative ceremonies.
There are natural synergies between the veteran and defence communities, and this change will provide Veterans SA with a better opportunity to advocate and leverage Defence SA in delivering stronger and better outcomes for South Australia’s ex-serving personnel and service providers.
As Premier, with responsibility for Veterans Affairs, I will continue to be your Government representative and voice in South Australia.
As a nation, we owe so much to our veteran community, and we will continue in delivering much needed services, in particular in acknowledging the sacrifice made by you, our veterans, and your families in order to protect Australia’s national interest.
As your Minister for Veterans Affairs I look forward to continuing a strong working relationship with Veterans SA and the Veterans Advisory Council (VAC) to ensure South Australia respectfully honours your sacrifice and service.
Again, I thank you for your service.
We will remember them.
