ANZAC Day Commemoration Fund Grants focus on regional and digital projects

Sixteen community groups across South Australia have secured funding for a variety of engaging projects as part of the 2020-21 Anzac Day Commemoration Fund Grant program.

Successful grants totalling almost $73,000 were awarded for projects during the latest round. Projects funded include the creation of signs and storyboards, a digital interactive kiosk, an art mural and more.

Premier Steven Marshall said he was delighted to see such engaging projects highlight the contribution of veterans to the community.

“The Anzac Day Commemoration Grant Fund is a wonderful opportunity for a wide range of groups and organisations across South Australia to honour and commemorate veterans, their families and their service,” Premier Marshall said.

“We know veterans and their families play an important role in our community and the variety of successful projects demonstrates our ongoing desire to acknowledge that role.”

In this grant round priority was given to projects with regional and digital elements ensuring future focused projects.
“After a year like no other we really wanted to showcase projects that were digital and accessible to all in the community,” he said.

“We also wanted to put a focus on regional projects and those that were inclusive of storytelling and that showed a commitment to the lived experience of veterans and their families.”

The annual state government grant program is managed under the Anzac Day Commemoration Act 2005 and administered through Veterans SA.
