Minister for Veterans’ Affairs

The Veterans SA Strategic Outlook has been updated to include new deliverables that will drive the agency’s activities to support South Australia’s veteran community in 2023.

The updated strategy has been influenced by feedback from veterans and their families gathered through forums, surveys and round-table meetings held during 2022.

The new deliverables demonstrate the agency’s continued commitment to improving outcomes for current and former serving members and their families living in South Australia.

Additional community engagement activities and collaborations with agencies across the South Australian and Australian governments are a large part of the revised strategy, which has as strong focus on families, employment, and wellbeing.

Educating the wider community about the value people with ADF experience bring to the workforce and how to support Defence children at school is addressed as a priority as well as further funding support for veteran support programs, capacity building and commemorative activities.

Veterans SA released its first 10-year Strategic Outlook in 2021 which identified the agency’s four strategic pillars: empowering community, promoting inclusion, data-informed policy best practice and honouring service.

The 2023 strategic aims and outcomes are each aligned to one of these pillars.
