A new three-year partnership between REDARC Defence & Space and Legacy Club of South Australia & Broken Hill will provide veterans’ families with practical support, social connection and resilience-building opportunities.
The partnership will establish the Legacy REDARC Resilience Program for the partners of veterans who have died or become physically or mentally incapacitated because of their service.
Building on Legacy’s longstanding work with veterans’ families, the program will provide practical support and mental health resources to help participants build confidence, strengthen social connections and develop skills to navigate life’s challenges.
REDARC Defence & Space Managing Director Anthony Kittel said the partnership would create opportunities for connection, wellbeing and community support.
“Resilience is a value that underpins everything we do at REDARC. Through this partnership, we can support families who have faced significant challenges and help create meaningful opportunities for connection, wellbeing and community support,” Mr Kittel said.
The program will include therapeutic art sessions designed to encourage creative expression, communication and conversation to support mental wellbeing and resilience.
It will also include luncheons where women can share a meal, build social connections and hear from guest speakers who share their lived experience of mental health problems.
Legacy Club of South Australia & Broken Hill Chief Executive Officer Dan Demaria said support from corporate partners was essential to Legacy’s work with veterans’ families.
“The Legacy Club of South Australia & Broken Hill has served the families of those who served for almost 100 years. We cannot do our work without the support of corporate partners such as REDARC Defence & Space and we thank them for their generous support of our community,” Mr Demaria said.
As part of the partnership, REDARC Defence & Space will also support Legacy’s centenary in 2028 by funding up to six Legacy Centenary Benches.
The benches will be installed across regional South Australia and Broken Hill as a lasting reminder of Legacy’s contribution to veterans’ families and the support provided by the broader community.

Legacy Club of South Australia & Broken Hill has a longstanding commitment to the partners and children of veterans who have died or become physically or mentally incapacitated because of their service. It currently supports more than 2,400 veterans’ families, including 102 children, across South Australia and Broken Hill.
