Ten South Australian ex-service organisations and community groups will share in more than $48,000 in grant funding to deliver initiatives that educate and commemorate the state’s military heritage.

This is the second round of the State Government’s Anzac Day Commemoration Fund Program, bringing the total number of community projects and initiatives supported by the 2022-23 program to 17, further delivering on the State Government’s commitment to honouring service.

Among the projects that will benefit is the Royal Australian Regiment Association’s proposal to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the cessation of hostilities of the Korean War, with a ceremony and function at the Torrens Parade Ground on 29 July 2023.

Other projects awarded funding include peer support programs, community educational displays and military memorial restorations.

The Anzac Day Commemoration Fund offers grants to organisations and community groups who deliver events and programs that educate the South Australian community about the significance of Australia’s entire military history, support commemorative activities for all conflicts and support those who have served our country.

The next grant round for the Anzac Day Commemoration Fund will open in September 2023. Click here for full details on the 2022-23 successful grant recipients.

Quotes attributable to COL Peter Scott DSO MID (Retd) Korean War veteran

This important event, one of only a few being held in Australia for the 70th Anniversary, will ensure that Korean War veterans, in particular the 43 men still Missing in Action, are honoured and never forgotten.

Quotes attributable to Mr Michael von Berg, National President, The Royal Australian Regiment Association
